When we have reached the point where we have had enough of our limited carnal existence and experience, and in our hearts want more. We can then ask our loving father, who gives freely to all who ask, that we have our minds and our eyes unveiled to our true reality and identity. From there we are going to start to be regenerated, unveiled to our spiritual eyes and minds, filled with the life giving spirit of Christ. We will begin to think and act like him, not by trying to, but because he will strip away our carnal conciousness, all of our thoughts and actions will begin to fall in line with his. We will partake of his joy, his peace, his forgiveness and his love, and in doing so, we also will begin to share that with all others, no matter where they are at, or what they are doing.
Some wish to attain this for the promises that are attached to seeking the kingdom first, (But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.)it will never work that way, but what is more likely to happen is the carnal reasons we held for seeking the kingdom will fall away, and we will be content to enjoy the presence of God more then anything else. As far as what will be added will then come from the desires of our now spiritual hearts and minds. Serving God will no longer be what we are doing to try and attain favor from him, but will flow naturally and joyfully as we will want to share his truth with all, so that they too will be able to rid themselves of the false guilt and condemnation, and walk into the forgiving, loving presence of our father. For he has reconciled the world unto himself and does not impute sin to us, but imputes his righteousness.
“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:19
“Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputes righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin”. Rom 4:6-8
“It pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; and, having made peace, peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile (How much?) all things unto himself; by him, I say whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometimes alienated (and separated) and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet NOW hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight.” Colossians 1:19
P.S : He is not talking about our carnal conciousness, he is speaking solely of our spirit.
